A super sweet in-home Newborn photo session
I’m so happy to share with you a little peek back at a Newborn photo session I did for baby Luca. I’ve had the honor of photographing his family since his Mom and Dad booked a Holiday Mini Session with me back in 2020. Since then, I’ve loved getting to know them and watch their lovely family grow.
Some of the final images from our session had a bit of a nature/wildlife theme, apropos since Luca's parents are literally quite involved with wildlife. Mom, Heather is a wildlife veterinarian with the PETA Foundation and is also involved with The Whale Sanctuary Project and dad Shayne, a New Zealand native, is a conservationist and documentary film-maker. In fact, they met in Indonesia when their respective work projects brought them to the island of Sumatra.
Preparation and planning are key for a successful photo session and all of my newborn sessions come with a Newborn Session Prep Guide that I designed especially to ensure that families get the most out of each session. As you can see from the pictures below, I had one of the best sessions with Luca and his family. Mom, Heather’s preparation efforts allowed us to have an especially awesome shoot together and everything flowed effortlessly.
Luca slept most of the way through the session, which allowed us to get those much sought after dreamy, sleepy baby photos (my Newborn Session Prep Guide covers how to achieve this). And when he wasn't sleeping, Luca was so calm and relaxed. He was the sweetest lil baby and couldn’t have been any better.
Little 'Big' Bro
After photographing Luca, we brought big brother, Marlo in for some impromptu family portraits in their lovely back garden. How adorable is this little 'big' bro?!
